Wicked VOBS
Note: Photos are NOT screencaps (unless specificly noted)!
September 19th, 2004- Broadway: Kristy Cates, Jennifer Laura Thompson
A classic Wicked show. This is Kristy's (understudy Elphaba) second show ever, and while it is apparent that she is nervous, she still does a fantastic job, creating new riffs in "Defying Graivty" that I've only heard in this performance. She grew leaps and bounds through out the years; it is like a different actress! JLT (Glinda) does a great job and while vocally is bland, she is a funny actress that I really wish would recieve more credit. Quality is ok. A must have for all new traders! B+.
August 17th, 2005- Broadway: Shoshana Bean, Megan Hilty
One of Sho's (Elphaba) best shows! Her "Defying Graivty" is one of my all time favs, and the quality of the whole show is pretty good! Megan (Glinda), in my opinion, while vocally stunnig, was a little obnoxious on Broadway. I much prefered her in LA. A classic show that I recommend for all new traders! A-.
March 13th, 2006- 1st National Tour: Julia Munrey, Kendra Kassebaum
Julia Murney (Elphaba) struggles a bit vocally at points in this how, but at others sound amazing! Her acting is fantabulous, and she has great chemistry with Kendra Kassebaum (Glinda). Very good qaulity--I recommend this show to every Wicked fan! A-.
September 27th, 2006- (Opening night) West End: Idina Menzel, Helen Dillamore (Highlights)
I will be honest and say I am not a huge fan of these two. Idina (Elphaba) struggles vocally A LOT here and Helen (Glinda) is just annoying. Quality is ok, with lots of zoom outs and blackouts. Includes every major number. Very energetic crowd. B+.
December 13th, 2006- Chicago: Dee Roscioli (Third as principal), Megan Sikora
I haven't watched this yet, so for now I'm going to use w1cked1NT's description. "Great video/sound quality, no obstructions, lots of closeups. One of the best Wicked VOBs. Dee (Elphaba) is amazing as always and Megan (u/s Glinda) is a very funny
Glinda. A must have in your collection! Blooper during popular: Megan throws wand behind her, it rolls back to her feet, she throws it again. Dee can't stop laughing. A+."
Glinda. A must have in your collection! Blooper during popular: Megan throws wand behind her, it rolls back to her feet, she throws it again. Dee can't stop laughing. A+."
January 10th, 2007- Chicago: Dee Roscioli (first video of her as principal), Erin Mackey
A great capture of Dee. She looks a bit awkward here, but she is still settling into the role. The whole picture is a little blue, but the audio is great. Erin plays a cutesy Glinda. Wicked Chicago fans will enjoy, along with Dee and Erin fans. Otherwise, I find the talent here a little underwhelming. A-.
July 2nd, 2007- Broadway: Caissie Levy (first perf. as Elphaba), Kendra Kassbaum
Caissie Levy's (u/s Elphaba) first performance as Elphaba! She struggles vocally in this show (probably nerves) but her acting is fantastic. Kendra Kassebaum (Glinda) is one of my faves and does a great job as always. It's neat to see how much Caissie grew by the time she reached LA, and then how much she grew by the time Ghost came to Broadway! A-.
October 7th, 2007- Broadway: Julia Murney, Kendra Kassebaum (Last on Broadway togehter)
Julia Murney (Elphaba) struggles vocally here...her voice just couldn't hold up very well anymore, but acts the heck out of the part. Kendra (Glinda) is perfect as always. A very touching show. Quality is FANTASTIC. A.
October 24th, 2007- Broadway: Caissie Levy, Annaleigh Ashford (Highlights)
Caissie Levy (pronounced Kacy Leevee; u/s Elphaba) and Annaleigh Ashford (Glinda) perform a great show! Caissie struggles vocally, but is a great actress. Annaleigh never stops getting laughs. This one is Caissie's third and final performance on Broadway before joining the L.A cast as standby. Picture quality and audio is excellent. Includes every major number and scene. A must have in your collection! A.
January 18th, 2008- Los Angeles: Caissie Levy, Megan Hilty
The only word I have to describe this performance is wow. Caissie (Pronounced Kacy Levee; Elphaba) sings the best I have ever ever heard, and her acting is spectactular, portraying one of the most unique/truthful Elphabas ever. Despite the vocal problems she had later in her run, she sounds perfect here. Megan (Glinda) is also in her vocal prime, and never stops getting laughs. To round it out, Marcie Dodd is on as Nessarose, so this cast is just a dream. Quality is good enough to be a proshot. A+.
April 23rd, 2008- Los Angeles: Marcie Dodd, Megan Hilty
One of Marcie's (Elphaba) first shows as understudy in LA and she ROCKS! This is the best I have ever seen her sing and act. Megan (Glinda) is also in her prime and performs the funniest show ever! I honestly wish she sounded the way she did there throughout her Broadway, tour, and San Francisco run. Quality is fantastic. MUST HAVE! A+.
April 24th, 2008- Los Angeles: Teal Wicks, Megan Hilty
I haven't seen this full show, but the parts I've seen are FANTASTIC. Teal (standby Elphaba) isn't my favorite, but her vocals are very strong and unique here. Megan (Glinda) is precious as always. AMAZING quality. A++.
June 8th, 2008- 1st National Tour: Donna Vivino, Meggie Cansler
Donna Vivino (standby Elphaba) and Meggie Cansler (u/s Glinda) perfrom an OUTSTANDING show! The quality is so good it could be a proshot. Donna is one of my personal favorite Elphabas (I saw her on Broadway) and barely riffs at all here. She sings very similarly to what is on the recording. Meggie does a good job, but isn't the best. I recommend this show to EVERY Wicked fan. A+.
June 17th, 2008- Broadway: Kerry Ellis (first show on Broadway), Kendra Kassebaum
Quality is excellent. Not quite pro shot like like some others, but still great. My favorite Kerry performance ever. She does not sound nasal at all here, and her growls are outstanding. Her belt is pure and strong. Her acting is ok, but never did it for me. Kendra is superb, but I don't think anyone can replace the chemistry she had with Julia Murney (speaking of which I want more VOBs of Julia) and Stephanie J. Block. A.
July 19th, 2008- Chicago: Vicki Noon (first as Elphaba), Annaleigh Ashford
Vicki Noon (understudy Elphaba) does a fantastic job on her first performance. Sure, she is pitchy in some spots, but she sounds great in others, and vocally does things quite differently than later in her run. She still remains one of my favorite Elphabas. Annaleigh Ashford (Glinda) does amazingly as always and I love her chemistry with Vicki. Quality is fantastic. A+. Seeking non rar links!
February 26th, 2009- 1st National Tour: Meredith Kaye Clark, Katie Rose Clarke
Meredith (standby Elphaba) does a fantastic job as Elphaba. Powerhouse vocals even though totally riff free, and her acting is so unique and passionate. Katie (Glinda) is great as always. Quality is fantastic. During "No Good Deed," the dry ice sets the fire alarm off, and while Meredith keeps singing, the audience starts leaving. Eventually, an announcement is made asking everyone to evacuate the theater, and Meredith exits in character. The show then resumes at the chorus of "No Good Deed." A-.
March 8th, 2009- Broadway: Nicole Parker, Alli Mauzy
Nicole Parker (Elphaba) is very good! Not my favorite, but she has clear, pure vocals, and strong characterization. Alli Mauzy (Glinda) steals the show, and her vocals are great. She improved a lot in her SF run, and I hear she is even better on tour. Alli is currently in Wicked on Broadway. Excellent quality! A+.
November 17th, 2009- 2nd National Tour: Anne Brummel, Helene Yorke
Anne Brummel (understudy Elphaba) is a great Elphaba! She has pitchy moments, but she is still new to Elphaba. She improved tremondously by her last show as principal. Helene Yorke (Glinda) is cute, but is nothing that special (in this role) to me. However, I know other people who LOVE Helene! A-.
December 8th, 2009- Sydney: Jennifer Dinoia (her last in Sydney), Lucy Durack
This is a highlight show of Jenny Dinoia's (temp. alt/standby Elphaba) last show in Aussie! She is spectacular, and I am so happy she has returned to Wicked once again in the Korean company and for a short Broadway run. Lucy (Glinda) annoys me in ways I can't describe, and I honestly don't know why she was cast to begin with. Quality is ok--there are some obstructions. Includes most major numbers. B.
March 27th, 2010- West End: Alexia Khadime, Dianne Pilkington (last show for both; highlights)
Including "The Wizard and I," "Defying Graivty," and "No Good Deed." Shot with four cameras; full stage view. Alexia (Elphaba) pulls some imense riffs. Ultrare rare! B+. NFT--No trades, no exceptions. Links currently not working. Will trade ANYTHING for working links!
April 28th, 2010- West End: Rachel Tucker, Louise Dearman
THE Rachel (Elphaba) and Louise (Glinda) video. Shot way back in the beginning of their run together, they already have a clear concept of their roles. Rachel is very unique and growly, and Louise sings an amazing "the wicked DIIIIEEEE ALOOONE!" in NOMTW. Quality is excellent. Recommended for all new traders (and all Rachel fans). A.
August 28th (matinee), 2010- 1st National Tour: Jackie Burns, Chandra Lee Schwartz
I haven't watched this yet so for now I am going to use qubrown11's description.
"Spotlight washout is apparent when not zoomed in, and there are heads in the way from time to time (not very often at all). Jackie is a very girly elphaba (not good or bad, just different :P) and Chandra was surprisingly funny! I went into this not liking either of them and now I kind of do. A-/B+" What I can say is that I saw these two on Broadway and LOVED THEM!

August 29th, 2010- 1st National Tour: Carla Stickler, Chandra Lee Schwartz (highlights)
Note: about 90 minutes long, includes: No One Mourns the Wicked, Room
Assignments, The Wizard and I, Fiyero's Entrance (first minute), Elphie Dance /OzDust Ballroom, Sharing Secrets, Popular, The Lion Cub (after classroom scene), I'm Not That Girl, One Short Day, Defying Gravity, Wicked Witch of the East (second half), Wonderful, As Long As You're Mine, House in the Sky, Munchkinland, No Good Deed, Kiamo Ko, For Good, The Melting, Finale. Carla (u/s Elphaba) is a beautiful Elphaba (literally) and sounds glorious here. Yet, she is a bit too angry and sounds a little too youthful here. You can tell she is nervous. This is, after all, one of the first few times she went on for Elphaba. Cahndra Lee Schwartz (Glinda) is amazing, but improved SO much by the time she reached Broadway. A.

December 18th (matinee), 2010- 1st National Tour: Carla Stickler and Chandra Lee Schwartz
Shot from the front row, this is an even better capture of Carla and Chandra than the performance recorded in August! Carla (u/s Elphaba) doesn't seem nervous at all here, and her vocals got even sharper. She also got growlier in this performance which I love. She is still a bit too angry at times for me, but improved SO much since August. She is now standby, and I've heard she has improved even more becoming one of the best Elphabas. Chandra (Glinda) is awesome as always. A+.
January 30th, 2011- Broadway: Mandy Gonzalez (last show), Katie Rose Clarke (Highlights)
An amazing and ULTRA RARE highlight show (minimal highlights including Defying Gravity and No good Deed) of Mandy Gonzalez's last ever show as Elphaba. She is one of my all time favorite Elphabas. Katie Rose Clarke (Glinda) is a Goddess and is the best Glinda ever. B. NFT-- No trades, no exceptions. Links not working currently.
February 1st, 2011- Broadway: Teal Wicks (first), Katie Rose Clarke (Highlights)
This includes great Highlights. Teal Wicks (Elphaba) and Katie Rose Clarke (Glinda) work perfectly together on Teal's Broadway debut! Teal is nervous here, but still does a good job. This does include Katie's popular on Broadway which is a little more different than the one on tour so this show is a little more rare. Minimal highlights include: Popular, Defying Gravity, No Good Deed, Curtain call.
Spring 2011- 2nd National Tour: Laurel Harris (only recording of her), Natalie Daradich (Highlights)
Includes "Wizard and I," "Defying Gravity," and "No Good Deed." I cannot listen to this. Laurel (u/s Elphaba) has one of the most nasal/screechy voices I've ever heard, and while she is on pitch, I really do not care for her. Natalie (Glinda) isn't really in this so I can't judge her. Quality is not that great. B.
October 12th, 2011- 1st National Tour: Mamie Parris, Amanda Jane Cooper
The best VOB I have ever seen--talent and quality. Mamie (Elphaba) brings something fresh to the role and her vocals are outstanding. Amanda (Glinda) is hilarious and actually not annoying at all in this video. Quality is so good it could be a proshot. My favorite Wicked show ever. A+++++++. I can't believe Mamie is gone!
November 30th, 2011- 1st National Tour: Mamie Parris, Katie Rose Clarke
Qubrown11's description: "A nice capture of the first performance of the Los Angles stop. Mamie (Elphaba) is a fantastic Elphaba; she has a powerful voice and hits every note. Katie (Glinda) is her usual brilliant self with perfect pitch and great comedic timing, even taking her shoes off during Popular. There are a few scattered blackouts: the first minute of No One Mourns the Wicked, the first 3 minutes of Room Assignments, the first minute of History Lessons, 1 minute during Fiyero's entrance, 2 minutes during Dancing Through Life, and the first 2 minutes of act two. Other than that, the show is complete and beautifully captured with no obstruction and only a little washout in high contrast scenes. It's filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups, and the sound excellent as usual. Includes curtain call. A"
December 11th, 2011- 2nd National Tour: Anne Brummel, Tiffany Haas
A rare video of Tiffany (Glinda) and Anne (Elphaba). Anne gives some intense riffage and Tiffany is a spunky, beautiful, and HILARIOUS Glinda. She also has an amazing voice. One of my fave shows. RARE--Limited trades only. A.
March 27th, 2012- Singapore (Asian tour): Jemma Rix, Suzie Mathers
Jemma Rix is the best Elphaba, vocally, IMO. Suzie Mathers (Glinda) is also very good. Jemma's acting isn't the best, but she's still entertaining. The whole picture is crystal clear for the most part, but can be zoomed out or blury at others. A.
April 15th, 2012- Broadway: Jackie Burns, Chandra Lee Schwartz (Highlights)
My favorite Gelphie pair! Highlights include "The Wizard and I," "Defying Gravity," Catfight scene, and "No Good Deed." Shots are blurry but audio is great. Jackie (Elphaba) has improved a lot since her touring days. B. RARE--Extremely limited trades.
April 22nd, 2012 (closing matinee)-Singapore (Asian tour): Zoe Jarrett (last show), Suzie Mathers
Note: Screen cap is qubrown11's. Zoe Jarrett (alt./standby Elphaba) is fantastic and highly underrated. Not as powerhouse vocally as some other Elphabas, but she has pure, clear vocals and tons of energy and is a great actress (better than Jemma's in my opinion). Suzie (Glinda) also does a great job, and her voice soars throughout the theater. EXCELLENT quality--even pro shot like at points. A+.
July 26th, 2012- Broadway: Caroline Bowman and Chandra Lee Schwartz
Note: Screen cap is qubrown11's. Caroline Bowman (u/s Elphaba) gives an amazing performance on her third and last show as Elphaba. She can be a tiny bit shouty at times, and has odd placement on some vowels, but other than that, her vocals are sublime, giving very few riffs throughout the show. Her acting is good, and would only improve if she went on more. Chandra (Glinda) is precious as always and it makes me sad that she is done. Great filming. A-. Rare--limited trades only.
